Terms of use
Short, because there is not much to agree about: nothing is stored, nothing is sold, and the work happens on your own machine.
Your pictures stay yours
Opening a file here grants nobody any right to it. The site holds no copy, claims no licence, and could not exercise one if it did — the bytes never reach anyone who runs this site.
Use it for what you like
Personal work, client work, commercial work, at any volume you can stand to wait for. There is no fee, no account and no usage limit beyond what your own device will do. Automating a browser to hammer the page is neither forbidden nor useful; the encoders run on your hardware either way.
No warranty, and what that means here
The numbers on this site are produced by real encoders on your device and reported as measured. They are not certified, and the similarity score is a model with known failure modes described on the guide page. Nothing here is offered as advice for a situation where being wrong has consequences, and a result you have not looked at in the two panes is a number you have not checked.
The site is provided as it is, with no guarantee that it works on any particular browser, produces any particular file size, or continues to exist. Keep your original file until you are satisfied with what came out — which is good practice regardless of who wrote the tool.
What you must not do
Two things. Do not use this site to process material you have no right to process. Do not present its output as having been verified by anyone; it is a measurement, and the party that made it is a script running in your own browser.
Changes
These terms move when the site moves. Nobody holds an account here to be notified, so the version published here is the one that applies, and material changes to how the site handles files are described on the privacy page rather than buried in this one.
